Privacy
Short version: the tools run on your device, and what you type into them is never sent anywhere.
What you type stays in your browser
The shortcut lists and character tables are part of the pages. Searching, filtering, looking up an Alt code and copying a symbol all happen in your browser, with no requests to any server. There are no accounts, no forms that submit anywhere, no advertising and no tracking scripts of our own.
The Press keys button in the shortcut finder listens only for the next key combination you press, only while it is switched on, and only to fill in the search box. Copy buttons write to your clipboard when you click them; the site never reads your clipboard.
What is saved on your device
A few preferences are kept in your browser's local storage, so they are there next time. They never leave your device, and clearing this site's data removes them:
tinyshortcuts-theme: your light or dark choice, if you picked one.tinyshortcuts-platform: whether the finder shows Mac, Windows or Linux keys.tinyshortcuts-recent-symbols: the last symbols you copied in the symbol picker.
The site does not use cookies.
Analytics
The site is served by Cloudflare, which adds Cloudflare Web Analytics to its pages. It counts page views without cookies and without tracking you across sites, and it never receives what you type, search or copy in the tools. Cloudflare also handles the normal web server logs needed to deliver the pages.
Links to other sites
Some pages link to other websites, such as the official documentation we checked the shortcuts against. Those sites have their own privacy policies.
