tip

Curious how these keys behave in Edge, Firefox or Brave before you switch? [WebTraceCheck's disposable cloud browser](https://webtracecheck.com/) opens them on an isolated Linux desktop that is deleted after each session, with nothing to install; use the Windows & Linux column there.

## The tab keys pay off first

Ctrl+Shift+T (Cmd+Shift+T on a Mac) brings back the tab you just closed, and keeps going back through closed tabs each time you press it. Ctrl+1 to Ctrl+8 jump to a tab by its position, and Ctrl+9 always goes to the last tab, however many are open.

Mac keyboards have no PgUp or PgDn keys, so the move-tab shortcuts need Fn with the arrow keys there. Other Chromium browsers such as Edge and Brave share many of these keys but add and change some of their own.

## Printing and saving

Print gives you a two-column sheet without the rest of the site; pick Save as PDF in the print dialog to keep a copy. Filter first to print only what you need, or download the sheet as a Markdown table for your notes.

## Questions

**How do I reopen a tab I closed by mistake?**

Press Ctrl+Shift+T on Windows and Linux or Cmd+Shift+T on a Mac. Chrome reopens closed tabs in the reverse order you closed them, and if the last thing you closed was a window, it brings the whole window back.

**What is the difference between a reload and a hard reload?**

F5 or Ctrl+R reloads the page and may reuse files Chrome has cached. Shift+F5 or Ctrl+Shift+R (Cmd+Shift+R on a Mac) reloads while ignoring cached content, which helps when a page you just changed still looks old.

**How do I open Chrome's developer tools?**

Press F12 or Ctrl+Shift+J on Windows and Linux, or Cmd+Option+I on a Mac. Cmd+Option+J on a Mac opens the JavaScript Console directly.
